Sutek was born the only child in a close knit family of medical professionals. His parents, both traditional vulcans and eminent surgeons strongly suggested that their son pursue a career in medicine. When he demonstrated a desire to pursue a slightly different course than theirs it was suggeste that he consider a career in Starfleet.
