Family history
Her great-grandparents left the Federation when they were just married. When Kaylee was 24, a civil war broke out on the planet she living on. Both of her older brothers were enlisted into the fight. Kaylee also joined up as a combat medic. Both of her brothers were KIA. She was in Andrew's division when he died and she got severe 3rd degree burns when she tried to save him from the flaming wreckage he was trapped in. After 2 of their children had died and another was in critical care, Percy and Paisley left their home planet and re-joined the Federation
Education
Kaylee went to an elementary school when she was young and then studied Veterinarian Medicine under her father until the war broke you. After the war, she was enlisted in Star Fleet and received more advanced medical training.
